Similar Differences

Finally, I have discovered the amusement in working with different textures. It’s really interesting to play with different consistencies to come up with a fascinating ensemble.

I always come back to the basics when it comes to layering so I started with a basic black vest. Since it’s a little bit chilly today, I decided to bring out my quilted jacket. What I love about quilted jacket is that they are not just warm but I find them quite elegant with a practical edge. I feel snug and trendy at the same time. I also like the quilt textures; I think the hard and edgy consistencies make it an interesting piece to have in your wardrobe. I decided to pair the jacket with something softer like this chiffon skirt. I think the contrasting textures and similar colour palette add an unusual yet interesting and daring move to the outfit.

I decided keep hold of that edgy vibe with these mock suspender tights and black boots. I hope you like the look.

Trench It Up

A classic trench coat was designed as a raincoat for armed forces during the First World War and it became hugely popular due to its waterproof exterior and removable lining. After the war had ended, the coat became a style staple. From wartime staple to urban style essential, there is no wardrobe that is complete without one. It’s such a timeless piece that should not and will not be relegated as a wrong fashion statement.

  From modern, to classic, slightly wacked one, I love all the ultimate styles of trench coat and I think it’s one coat that suits all from male, female to different body sizes and types. I’ve been going crazy over trench coats for like forever and not being able to find the perfect one for me for the past years has been pretty hard, but just when I had given up all hope, I happened to lay my eyes on this trench coat and it was love at first sight.

I love this coat, it’s the right colour, style and fits exactly like I wanted. I decided to pair it with my denim shirt and Levis denim shorts. I wasn’t so sure about going denim on denim so adding this beige trench restrained the deep colours and strong textures of the denims.  I hope you like the look.

Feminine

As much as I love styles with bit of edge, sometimes it’s nice to get in touch with our feminine side. When I think of feminine looks, I think of something soft, dainty, something romantic like lace. I love wearing lace; its intricate details always feel elegant and exquisite. In terms of colour, my choice here is no joke with royal blue; I just couldn’t resist lace with royal blue. 

I paired the lace crop top with this chiffon skirt. Again, another feminine piece that I have in my closet. I think the rule of balance perfects it, by balancing the richness of the colour with the softness of the sheer chiffon. Also the high and low hemline gives a sense of elegance with the longer back and revealing flirty side with the shorter front. I added a gold belt to show the division of the matching colour pieces and also to create a silhouette with smaller waist. I finished the look with my tan shoes. I hope you like the look.

Levels

If you noticed anything different, then you are right I am back to brunette. I loved my blonde ombre but the dye was damaging my hair too much and now that I changed it, it’s much softer and feels less like the wood.

Anyway, back to the outfit, I decided to go for little vampy look to reveal my darker side (kidding). Now, that autumn is at our doorsteps, it's time to bring out the layers. As you all know, autumn marks the transition from summer into winter - I thought I would take that as a theme for my look today.

I love working with the hues of charcoal, blacks and greys as strength to compliment the gloomy weather. The pieces I used are pretty basic, like this grey high neck crop jumper, which not only gives that needed warmth but shows the layers underneath. I added a black and white stripe shirt, just enough to peek out from underneath the jumper (again you can add colours depending on your mood). My third layer piece are these black skorts and when there's skorts there won’t be no more worrying about the wind, getting out of a car or any rising up. The skorts are a convenient traffic stopper and with the right vibe can be a great autumn piece. I finished the look with a pair of Chelsea boots. I went for dark berry colour for the lips to add colour to the monotone look.As a whole, the outfit showed the level of layers perfectly. And the colour combination is like a comfortable promise for the season. I hope you like the look.

Caught on the web

My look today includes all of my favourites, that’s right, it ticked all the boxes for me. Sometimes it's amazing how you end up creating an ensemble you like picking out random pieces that you didn’t even know you had. Firstly, I picked out this black chiffon dress and since I am a big fan of cutouts, I instantly fell in love with the cage cutout details on the neckline. 

I added this semi-sheer knit top, with its off-shoulder cut on point to show off the cutout details on the dress. I also added a belt to accentuate the waistline and to hold the pieces together as a whole outfit. I finished the look with black strappy shoes. I hope you like the look.

Simplicity

Simplicity goes a long way in fashion. Recently I have embraced the power of simplicity and have found that working with minimals can sometimes feel most rewarding. For today's look, I went for this simple yet elegant jumpsuit. The deep teal colour became my absolute favourite the minute I saw it. Even though it has a simple silhouette, it comes with a twist of layers. I loved how this chiffon jumpsuit tricks the eye with its discreet slit opening along the bottom, just showing the right amount of skin to uphold that elegance. I finished the look with a pair of black cutout shoes.

Vertical Stripes

I seriously think monochrome has taken over me by storm. I think this colour palette is so much easier to style with and you get drawn towards it a lot more than other colours. It's always the best idea to start anything from the basics and since it’s basic shades, it's a lot simpler for someone who likes to play it safe and I do like my comfort zone once in a while. With monochrome you can always build up the look without going wrong and still look effortlessly trendy.

This is one of my looks from when I visited Copenhagen and it was also featured in Mess magazine. It was pretty simple to put together.

Crop tops play an important role in most of my looks, so I started off with this white crop top that has a wider sweetheart neckline. My favourite thing about wider necklines is how they show off the collarbone, which for me always adds feminine but subtle sexiness to the look. I also added a vertical stripe maxi skirt, which is a lot thicker than I expected but it's also warmer, so will be good for the fall too.

I completed the look with some earthy tone accents like the brown belt that definitely bought some shape and my worn out tan shoes. Also, these are my go-to earrings and are quickly becoming my favourite. I hope you like the look.

Leather & Lace

I always thought Leather and Lace are two essential elements as opposites, but, like they say, opposites attract. This edgy leather and feminine, romantic lace make a great combination. And while leather and lace look gorgeous together, the two trends are just as stylish on their own. 

For my look today, I went for the classic black and white palette. You can never go wrong with monochrome, that’s obviously if you do it right. For the outfit, I picked this white lace bralet. I loved how its delicateness contrasted with the edginess of the leather trousers I chose to pair it with. I added a pair of cutout shoes just because I love anything to do with cutouts and also to stick to the colour theme I was going for. I completed the look with a silver statement necklace that has blue and pink colour stones to bring some pop-up colour in my outfit.
